Texsport Rotisserie Grill and Spit

Texsport Rotisserie Grill and Spit Review

Grilling and Eating is what Camping is all about!

One of my favorite things to take along camping, and one of the first things that gets packed, is my Texsport Grill.  This is an adjustable grill that lets me grill at any campsite, no matter what size fire pit they have (or even if they don’t even have one).  The cooking surface raises and lowers to adjust how hot you want it.  You can drop it down low over a bed of charcoal, or raise it up if you have coals on a wood fire.

If there is a fire pit or fire ring at your camp site, you can use it for cooking.  If the ring is the right size, you can leave the legs off the grill and lay it on top of the fire ring.  If the ring is slightly too big, I have used one leg outside the ring, and put the grill over the fire ring.

If you are consistently cooking right on the surface of this grill, you need to keep a coating of oil or cooking grease on it or it will rust.  That makes transporting it a little bit of a problem because you don’t want that all over the rest of your camping gear. I either put it in a trash bag, or cover it with a tarp when I’m packing the camping gear.

The hight of the rotisserie is also adjustable.  And it has two arms that swing out away from the fire, or over the grill to keep potted food warm.

What I like about this, is that it is adjustable.  I can grill anywhere, and rotisserie and warming arms provide a good combination of cooking options.  The minuses are that it’s prone to rusting if you don’t take good care of it, and there are quite a few small parts to keep track of. Overall I love it. I take it on family outings, as well as Boy Scout campouts.  Nothing beats grilling and camping!
